James Michael Phillips (“Mike” to those who knew him), the loving husband of Janet Phillips, passed unexpectedly on May 20 after suffering an accidental head injury in his woodshop.

Known for his vast kindness and generosity, Mike was always ready to lend a hand for on-the-trail projects and provide financial patronage as well, including 17 years of unwavering support for Janet’s volunteer trail leadership and planning efforts.

He will be greatly missed by the entire Tahoe-Pyramid Trail family.
