Reasons and Information for Donating:
4 Important Reasons to Donate: (Click to Learn More)
- We are a 100% Volunteer Non-Profit Organization and are not affiliated with any government agency.
- While it is often possible to win grant funding for actual “Trail Construction”, the critical trail planning and trail design tasks are not eligible for Private, Business, or Government Grants. As a result, the trail planning and design work must be paid for entirely by funds from Tahoe-Pyramid Trail funds.
- Grants often require “Matching Funds” from other sources, ranging from 5% to 50% of the grant’s total award amount. While sometimes Tahoe-Pyramid Trail can find matching funds from private or corporate sponsors or even government agencies, this is not always the case. By having a healthy trail fund, the Tahoe-Pyramid Trail can take advantage of grants that require matching funds and not let these opportunities pass us by.
- Once the trail is built, a pool of annually available funds is also needed to maintain the trail, improve the trail, and also repair the trail.

The money given to Tahoe Pyramid Trail counts toward the donor’s “Required Minimum Distribution” (RMD), but doesn’t increase the donor’s adjusted gross income or generate a tax bill.

What is the Legacy Circle?
The Legacy Circle recognizes the generosity and vision of those who have chosen to leave financial support to the TPT in your will or estate plan.

Benefits to you: The greatest benefit is the satisfaction of knowing that your long-range plans will help preserve the work of volunteers and donors that built the Trail. As a member of the TPT Legacy Circle you will be recognized in the TPT newsletter, on our website, and at TPT’s annual event.
Benefits to the Tahoe Pyramid Trail: By including TPT in your Will or Trust, or by naming it the beneficiary of your investment accounts, you help us:
