Introduction to Kris Wells

I had a chance to meet our new board member, Kris Wells. As her bio reads in the TPT March Newsletter, she has an extensive background in various non-profit boards. Her years at AT&T provided her with many opportunities to provide for our community and the state through their philanthropic programs. She currently serves on the Reno Elks Charitable Fund board establishing policies and procedures for their newly obtained 501(c)3 status. She has carried on her passion for helping many other non-profits throughout the years.

I asked Kris what she thought was her reason for joining our board. She replied that she has nurtured many relationships that she hopes could benefit us. Relationships are her superpower! Her answer made me think of how Janet hand-picked the previous board members throughout the years. Janet was a good judge of character, and when she asked if you could do something, you were honored and did whatever was needed.

She found the right person for the job. I believe Kris would have been a pick Janet would have made for us. Building the rest of the TPT east will involve a variety of organizations and private individuals who will need relationship building. Kris will play a role in developing those relationships.

She is also passionate about her therapy dog, Fiona, and is an avid reader.
