Did You Know Your Group Or Business Can Adopt
Your Own Section of the Tahoe-Pyramid Trail?
Are you and your group interested in helping out on the trail?
Can you commit to a 2-year period of time with your group?
Then You Can Become One of the Tahoe-Pyramid Trail Adopter Teams!
Adopting a trail section means taking care of the trail with your team on your team’s schedule. Tasks include quarterly inspection (at a minimum) and removal of weeds to maintain the trail at its full width, as well as the removal of debris and litter (and yes, TPT has a lot of tools your team can use). Additionally, reporting any major problems you find in your trail section is important (using our online trail adopter reporting system). Issues to report would include trail surface damage, erosion, or degradation, downed trees, vandalism, rock falls, safety issues, etc. Each adopted section is typically about a 1-mile stretch and a minimum 2-year commitment is expected.
Trail Section Adoption is a great opportunity for business team-building,
or any civic-minded groups, and is absolutely vital for the health of the trail
and its continued enjoyment by all trail users!
