The Tahoe-Pyramid Trail 2019 Kickoff Event was a huge success with over 300 people in attendance at the Patagonia Outlet in downtown Reno. Attendees enjoyed adult beverages and snacks provided by Patagonia. Volunteers have installed four of five kiosks with new information signs along the trail in the canyon. There will be a total of five installed when the project is complete. Ted and Carolyn Laird, local Reno Nevada cyclists rode a fully supported 11-day cycling trip with Bicycle Adventure Club through the beautiful Loire River Valley of France in June. The Trail held the annual Cookie Ride on Saturday, May 5th enjoying perfect timing weather-wise. Close to 70 riders enjoyed spring sun during their travels on the Trail, and delicious homemade cookies were eaten at Crystal Peak Park in Verdi! After many years of traveling through the Farad Powerhouse property under ‘revocable permission’, the Trail was granted a permanent easement by the Truckee Meadows Water Authority in May 2019. Our appreciation goes to the TMWA Board for this community-minded action which will benefit Truckee River recreational users for years to come. READ FULL POST >
The Tahoe-Pyramid Trail Building contractor and advisors will be construction on the final link of the one-mile section in May 2019. Greg Tafoya, our Website Administrator in 2018, took on the daunting task of cleaning up the TPT website and transitioning it to WordPress for easier maintenance and additional functionality.
