Date April 30, 2021 3-5pm
A private celebration for the unveiling of the new Floriston Boardwalk donor plaque (installed at the down stream end of the boardwalk at Floriston).
The Hirschdale to Floriston section was officially completed in October 2019 but because of several extenuating circumstances (early onset of winter, the pandemic, an oil spill on Hwy 80), the dedication and plaque installation was delayed until April 2021.
Those listed on the plaque are donors who generously gave $1000.00 or more between 2014-2019 as well as the engineering team.
It was a small open house-style event and donors dropped in between 3pm and 5pm. About 20 of the donors were able to join us as well as some TPT volunteers. At one point during the dedication event, Janet gave a short speech thanking the donors and engineers and recounted the many challenges of this difficult-to-complete section of trail.
Artistic Landscaping designed and built the plaque mounting block and a TPT volunteer crew, led by Bill von Phul, installed both the donor plaque and the bench in mid-April 2021.
This is one of three donor plaques installed along the trail from Mogul to Floriston.
