 Jeff Boyer

PEOPLE NEWS

Jeff Boyer joined the TPT team this year, and immediately stepped up to become the "Sign Guy" (this is yet another task that the late Mike Traynor did for TPT, following on Clif Usher's long tenure).

Over the 90 or so miles of trail that are open, there are hundreds of signs: wayfinding signs, cautionary signs, interpretive signs and property signs. Jeff's role is to check on them for replacement or repair, and to keep up the GIS database that tracks them.

Jeff is ideally suited to this project because of his many decades of experience on the Truckee River with the U.S. Watermaster's office, so he knows every inch of the river. WELCOME TO TPT JEFF!

TRAIL NEWS

Dirt Gypsy Adventures Shuttle

Got a few of your friends who want to bike or hike the TPT from Truckee to Verdi but would love to have all your cars waiting for you at the end? Well, you can do it with the help of Dirt Gypsy Adventures Shuttle. They require a minimum of four people and can obviously accommodate the bikes. Here is a link to their website shuttle information. As their website says about the TPT, "suspension bridges, historical sites, rail cards, wildlife spotting ... what's not to love about it?" Check them out.

Events

Donor appreciation reception

In mid-August, TPT held an invitation-only party to thank our major donors. This is an annual event, and attendees have either given over $5,000 to the Trail, or have included it in their will.  If TPT is in your will, please let us know so that you will be invited next year!

Ride the Rez

Be sure to mark your calendar for October 23 to Ride the Rez. If you feel unsure of finding your way, or intimidated by the remoteness of this part of the TPT, this is an opportunity to ride in a group with shuttle support. To sign up, you must be a member of Procrastinating Pedalers. Membership is available on the day of the ride or you can use this link to join the Pedalers:

Proposed downtown trail improvements

The Downtown Reno Partnership is proposing major enhancements to the river trail from Lake Street to John Champion Park. Components include widening, lighting, art installations, repaired pavement and amenities.
