Truckee Passed Trails Funding Measure

Measure U in Truckee passed by a wide margin in June's balloting. This is excellent news for TPT users because it will fund trails in Truckee for the next ten years (the previous sales tax for trails was time-limited). A major project on the planning horizon is a trail on the south side of the river from Highway 89 to Brockway Road. Once it's finished, you won't have to ride through downtown Truckee's commercial area.

Trail Through-Riders Seek Advice

We sometimes receive queries from people wanting to ride (or run) the entire length of the TPT, including the sections that haven’t yet been built. If you have done this, would you be willing to be a reference person to answer questions such as:
How did you cover the distance east of Sparks where no trail exists?
Where did you stay overnight?

Community Events

Truckee Thursday, Weekly through July, 5-8:30 PM

Look for our outreach volunteers exhibiting information, enjoying the fun and groovin' to the music of Local Anthology in historic downtown Truckee on July 14.

Report to Pyramid Lake Tribal Council

Janet Phillips gave an update about the Tahoe-Pyramid Trail to the Pyramid Lake Tribal Council on June 17. Twenty-three miles of the TPT is on Reservation land and was made possible in 2006 by collaboration with the Tribe. We hope the Tribe’s proposed trail from Nixon to Sutcliffe will connect to TPT!

TPT Board Adds Two New Members

The TPT Board proudly welcomes Mary Beth Roselli and Chris Askin. Chris will chair the Fundraising Committee, and Mary Beth will be the Communications Committee Chair. Thank you for stepping up and contributing your skills to the governance of the Tahoe Pyramid Trail organization.
