Cookie Ride!

After a hiatus in 2020, the 16th ALMOST-ANNUAL “COOKIE RIDE” will be Sunday May 23, celebrating the anniversary of the Mogul-Verdi trail 2005 opening. Homemade cookies and lemonade will be served at Crystal Peak Park in Verdi from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with each bike club, running club, and friends’ groups planning your own departure time and place. We serve only home-baked cookies, and we need more bakers to make 2 dozen cookies each. To volunteer, email Anna Bell at bellaj2006@yahoo.com.

recognition

On April 30, a long-delayed DONOR PLAQUE was installed at Floriston to recognize the 136 major donors who made the Truckee Canyon trail completion possible.
Stop and take a look (and rest on the beautiful bench there) at the bottom of the boardwalk. Warm thanks to Artistic Gardens for creating a beautiful pedestal for the plaque, and to the hard-working volunteers who installed it: Bill von Phul, Steve Nelson, Sam Limerick, Sandra Limerick, Mike Traynor, Jeff Dean, Dick Benoit, Duke Vermazen and Mike Widmer.

fundraising news

ANNUAL DONOR LETTERS were sent in late-April to about 400 of our steadfast donors, asking them to renew their donation to the TPT. So far the response has been huge! Thank you everyone! If you didn’t receive a letter (and our new 5-year report) but would like one, just send your address to janet@tahoepyramidtrail.org.
If you are considering a more complex method of donating, such as an IRA distribution, a bequest in your will, creation of a charitable trust, etc., please take a look at our new donor guide:

try an adventure on the "rez"

Thanks to amazing volunteer effort by Sam Limerick, Mike Traynor and Marie Norell, guiding signs on the entire length of the Pyramid Lake Reservation from Wadsworth to the Lake have been restored. Maps are available on the TPT website at https://tahoepyramidtrail.org/wadsworth-to-pyramid-lake, and YOU MUST HAVE A DAY-USE PERMIT for sale in person at the Ranger station in Sutcliffe for $22 per car. Call the Ranger station at 775-476-1155 for more information or visit their website to purchase online.

Sam Limerick and Marie Norell celebrate finishing the sign project at the Rez.

Please report trail conditions to our website—we depend on trail users to keep an eye on things: tahoepyramidtrail.org/report-trail-conditions/  To see ALL trail condition notes, please visit tahoepyramidtrail.org
