November is the time for giving thanks and the communities along the Truckee have much to be grateful for. As the TPT mission statement says, our trail follows the Truckee from its source at forested Lake Tahoe to its desert terminus, Pyramid Lake. How fortunate we are to have this in our backyard.
Here are some of the things we are grateful for:
1) Donors that have kept Janet’s legacy moving forward. We had lots of repairs after the awesome winter.
2) The snowfall we had last year. Granted, the repair work on the trails was extensive; living in the desert, we will take the moisture any way we can.
3) The friends that we met at events this year. We attended many and hosted a few more.
4) Our volunteers, board members, staff and advisors. It’s been a transitional and emotional year and without your continued help and support, we would not have accomplished so much.
5) The people who love our trail and this is reflected in the number of amateur photographers that participated in our first photo contest. The response was amazing. You guys blew me away.
